Now that's what I call a piece of SNK history chronicling the days before and after the smash Hit dub the neo Geo.
In my opinion during the neo Geo days samurai showdown and fatal fury special put the neo Geo brand on the map.

At 19:16 of the video, I mentioned the differences in cover art between the Japanese and US releases. There were also differences in cover art for the English releases between the US and Euro regions. Examples include Ghost Pilots and League Bowling.

This is a great book 💯. I had a copy for a year or so, soaked it all in for a while and then traded it for some actual Neo Geo gear to a collector here in town. It was the only way I could truly justify the trade. 😉

2:53 The arcade MVS is what kept the AES afloat. It didn't take much to throw an MVS game onto AES; make a game for MVS, might as well put it on AES while they were at it. MVS was the real money, AES was a little extra money. Last time I saw an MVS was at a Pizza Hut by me, all the into 2009. Well past when they stopped supporting Neo Geo at all. A lot of people say arcades died at the end of the 90's, but by me it wasn't until the late 00's when they started to disappear. Dance Dance Revolution was the big game/genre that decade.

Awesome book! I have a US version of NAM-1975 for the Neo Geo AES and both the box art and manual are like the Japanese, showing the women entirely. What you showed doesn't even seem like censored artwork, it looks as if someone just used a black marker to cover those parts.
