INFJ Career Journey

It's often frustrating for an INFJ to choose a career. Even after you choose one, you may feel as though you've made the wrong decision. This is my own story and what I've observed about other INFJs and work.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I kept nodding my head when you mentioned infj had so many interests haha. I used to think that I was not persistent enough to work on only one thing coz I am interested in so many things such as music, design, writing, helping others, and etc. and I still keep exploring. I feel like I could not stick with one thing for a very long period of time, so that’s why I could not find what I like the most and finally make a decision to call it my career. I am so glad to know that i not alone and it’s quite normal for infjs to be like that. Now I am learning traditional Chinese medicine on my own( it’s hard but I find it super interesting) and hopefully I can be a TCM practitioner to help people. To be honest, infjs should be an entrepreneur(to design a career that works for ourselves and allows us infjs to be infjs and use our talent to help and thrive) 😊. Good luck to all INFJs

On the 16Personalities test, I was INFJ, but something like 2% on the F, so borderline INTJ. Other tests have yielded INTJ. I started out in tech, because I have lot of interest in the field and I can be very technical, but ultimately it just wasn't rewarding in the way I hoped it would be. I shifted gears to a student support role in higher ed, and even though it's stressful and a bit draining to be working with people all day, it's scratching my itch a lot better and feels more meaningful to be working directly with people.

I was nodding my head in agreement all throughout this video. I'm glad you shared this because I am looking for a new career path but I have many different interests.

I do have a background in education so I definitely get that. I have so many interests and I love to learn things. I guess the path to choose is sharing what I learn and what I have experienced. I feel like my common thread is writing, it is where I feel the most powerful and in control.

So, it seems I have to have a blog or avenue to write and create that way. I have a YouTube channel for affiliate marketing. But I have inconsistent results, but I don't want to give up.

A mixed bag is the INFJ. But I really love learning and exploring my own thoughts. It's a safe place, if that makes sense. I am hoping to settle on something to be able to develop some consistency. Thank you for sharing this video, I appreciate it.

Im an infj male. Liked learning about cars when a teenager. My interest was economics, so went to business college, and worked for a stock transfer agent. Really wanted to start a business, so started working on cars for people in the building. Quit my job, been working on cars for 13 years. I think the common them is I like to understand thoroughly how something works. That freed up time to learn Portuguese, which connected me with a guy in Portugal, who is starting a business, which we may do together. This now allows me to move to Europe. Who would have thought. I would not have imagined that as a teenager, I would come this far, as I felt directionless.

@ispeakpeople My brother in Christ, where have you been? Hope all is well. If you receive this message, can you please make a video talking about INFJ paranoia/anxiety and how to overcome it?

Omg!! I thought I was crazy to have so many interests and bouncing from one thing to the next. I am back in school in my 50s and have changed my major 4 times. It's hard to settle on one thing, and it takes so long to decide because I know I will likely get interested in something else and drop what I was doing. Geez!! I have so many creative interests. Thank you for this video. It helps bring some perspective.

Nice topic🙏🏾I did really well in school and i find i really like being a student in something i really am interested in. I bounced around in majors in college and was really into performing arts and fashion. I'm currently a remote health coach and love it. It allows me to feel like I'm able to work independently and still have time for outside projects and ventures.

I'm a physiotherapist and I can't be bothered to perform better/learn more if I won't be financially rewarded or people to recognise the hard work/competence I have to offer that most people don't bother to focus on. That obviously makes my career underwhelming, but I don't see how changing jobs/departments will make me feel better if again, "the world" isn't build on the right values OR ANY VALUES AT ALL where we praise people for being honest, authentic, perform well, accurate, concise, clear communication and so on. I do think infjs will suffer in this area if not everyone until something drastic changes soon, hopefully with AI impact on the world, BUT...maybe never, so I have to surrender and let go of this...hopefully someone can tell me I'm wrong, make me reconsider or guide me to a better perspective, I just don't see it now. Appreciate your videos, they do help!
