Lithuania is obvious because of the common history. Polish has been spoken there for centuries.

In Belarus around 5% of population are Poles, but - as far as I know - most of them doesn't speak Polish.

In Lithuania there is even a Polish political party, representing the minority. In recent years some Lithuanian ministers were Poles.

I was surprised with the lack of Sweden, because I guess more than 100.000 Poles live there. But maybe not as official residents.

There are also some groups of Poles in Kazakhstan (in the time of Soviet Union, Poles were usually deported to today's Kazakhstan, not Russia).

Small, I'd even say tiny communities of Poles you can find in Romania and Moldova.

Few percent of Latvia's inhabitants has Polish roots. Most of them lives near Dyneburg (east of the country)

Lithuania, at one point, was almost completely Polonized, especially in the Vilnius area. During the interwar period, Vilnius had a population that was 50% Polish and only 3% Lithuanian. In terms of the percentage of Poles, it still ranks second in the world. Additionally, millions of Poles in Ukraine were deported after the war.

I'm pretty surprised that Iceland was not on the list. After all, there is a very large Polonia community living out there.

5, 3% i was sure its Iceland but there can't be 160k Polish people. Iceland has too small population. but Polish language is the third official language of Iceland. did you know? :D

I am from Poland and everything is correct. My family lives in England (7 people), 2 friends in Germany, my boyfriend's brother in the USA, also my boyfriend's aunt in Canada, my friend's cousin in France, my neighbor's family in Australia, and I live near the border with Czech Republic and I am there often :)

I thought about two boardering huge countries in South America: they are Argentina and Brasil. Btw, there is one county in Brasil, where Polish is second official language (obviously next to Portuguese) since 2022 - the County Áurea in state Rio Grande do Sul. And in Argentina it is resulting from much migrations during WW2.

Actually, Poles and Czechs are pretty close together, since our languages are so similar we understand eachother with rarely any problem, however we do think that the language of the other is funny:)
Also, since our border with Czechia is in the Carpathians its often that during a trip to the mountains you just go on a short stroll to a Czech store, so yea we get along really well

Why there's no Belarus? At least 200 000 Poles still live there.

Biorąc pod uwagę fakt, że kraj musi mieć około 10 milionów obywateli ( 0, 5% = 52179 to 100%= 10 434 000 ) to przychodzi mi do głowy Szwecja i Białoruś.

There are approximately 10 million people in the United States who declare Polish identity, but only 600, 000 speak Polish. There is also a large Polish community in Brazil, but the Polish language is almost non-existent there.

I was thinking about Iceland and The Netherlands

My parents went to Germany and worked there for two years as doctors. They returned to Poland when I was about to be born...

Have you caught a cold? You sniffle. Be careful that this doesn't turn into sinuses.

I was expecting Ukraine and Belarus... probably the data from that countries is not great but also many Poles came back from these lands. 30 years ago this quiz would be very diffrent
