NHS Health Check - blood pressure check
Показать описание
Having high blood pressure is hard to spot which is why it's so important to get your blood pressure checked regularly. If you’re aged 40-74 with no underlying health conditions, and you haven’t had an NHS Health Check in the last 5 years, you may be eligible for a free NHS Health Check.
The NHS Health Check is a free check-up of your overall health. The check will include getting your blood pressure taken, measuring your height and weight, taking your blood sugar levels and will also involve a simple chat about your lifestyle with the nurse.
It can tell you whether you’re at higher risk of getting certain health problems, such as:
• heart disease
• Type 2 Diabetes
• kidney disease
• stroke
During the check-up you’ll find out how to reduce your risk of these conditions. If you’re 65 and over you will also be informed about the signs and symptoms of dementia.
You can choose to book your NHS Health Check in 3 ways at a location and time convenient for you:
Your GP surgery
Local participating pharmacies
Community locations with Reed Wellbeing (commissioned to provide NHS Health Checks by Norfolk County Council)
