I honestly thought the movie would end with them just going back into hibernation- that it would be generic and forgettable. How it actually ended, with them embracing death on the ship amongst the stars, completely took my breath away.

At 2:47 it's when they're hugging in the pool just near the bowl on the stars and they're finally shown, then there's a time-jump by 88 years, you guess they're dead by now (and they possibly ejected someplace in space when they knew the natural end was near). So they finally lived decades in peace on the Avalon starship and then they are in eternal peace in the space immensity. So breathtaking! / The name Avalon takes to King Arthur and one of the curious things of this film is that the ship bartender's name is Arthur. In a couple of things it remembers (again probably unrandomly) "2001 A space odissey": another cinema masterpiece.

Loved the soundtrack of this movie- I knew it was Thomas Newman's work before I even seen the credits, it just has his classic signature to it. I thought this soundtrack was very close to Road to Perdition (A great movie with the most amazing score!) and as someone previously commented close to finding nemo (i think especially the soundtrack from the opening scenes of the movie.) Just love Newman's work, I hope he gets the recognition he deserves for it! :)

What a movie. I, like many other people here, do not understand the mostly bad crisitcs it got. The acting, the pictures and scenery and...oh my god....the outstanding soundtrack. A true masterpiece in my opinion. Will never forget it. Thx to all people who put this to our screens and memories. <3
