Being in a musical ensemble, especially one as rich as an orchestra, is a great reminder of how the whole can be much greater than the sum of its parts.

Thanks so much for this. It's one of my favorite pieces of music, and I'm of the opinion that no orchestra does it better than the Vienna Philharmonic. To me this is one of those beautiful pieces of art that eloquently evokes the whole human condition. At about minute 53 this piece of music turns into pure musical transcendence for me. About as close to religious experience as I can get. Again, thank you.

They should do either Mahler’s 2nd or 8th symphony at Gillette Stadium with the full orchestra spanning the whole length of the field and the choir spanning the stands behind the orchestra.
