I already knew how Overlay worked and yet it had not occurred me to use it to color picking 50% value colors. This is a game changer really. Thank you so much!

This was very helpful Kurt, thanks! Is this the same process you'd use for a style that uses light washes? Like say if the washes are there to soften the blacks but aren't necessarily doing all the rendering of form? Or would you color that with your more traditional method?
