Different orbits serve different purposes. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. There are several types of orbits:
Polar
Sun Synchronous
Geosynchronous

Well, this explains the satellite I saw traveling north. Wasn't for sure this happened. Thanks for the video! I'm gonna watch for it again tonight. I wish I could somehow identify who it belongs to? ESPN, CNN, SPRINT, Etc. etc.

I counted less than 30 days in the year and changing the angle of perspective was confusing. Better to show the inner planets against the background of the suns circumference with a closeup of the Earth as it passes by ;)

Geosynchronous does not equal geostationary and so, is not "always positioned over the same spot on the earth. Geostationary is a type of geosynchronous only it does not have any inclination.
Geostationary = always over the same spot
Geosynchronous = can be but usually not.

Geosynchronous isn't the same thing as Geostationary. Stopped watching.
