Randy Orton’s punt kick was special from 2007-2009

The saddest thing about Corbin's End Of Days being kicked out of is, that Corbin said in an interview he'd rather have a finisher no one kicks out of than a world title. Now he has neither.

When he started using it in 2010, the high cross from Sheamus was heavily protected till he couldn’t use it anymore

The most protected move is actually Victoria's Widow Peak finisher. 100% success rate till date. Also looks very devastating like the tombstone, stunner or pedigree

The best part about Robert's DDT was how "real" it looked.
If you watch him execute the move you'll see how he almost chokes you in the hold while driving you fast on the mat.
Basically you beat your head on the mat while being choked and having your neck stretched, almost ripped in the span of 1-2 seconds.

So Santino Marella's Cobra Clutch was equally like Mick Foley's Mandible Claw by having successful finisher move 😂

Not saying that finisher's should never be kicked out of, but when a finisher IS kicked out of it should be unexpected, and absolutely blow the crowds minds.

DDP's Diamond Cutter was also one of the most protected moves ever. During his WCW run the only guy I can recall kicking out of it was Goldberg at Halloween Havoc '98 after a very lengthy stall after hitting it.

Big Show's KO Punch is actually called Weapon Of Massed Destruction (WMD).

So fun fact about Baron and the End of Days. It's not only the first time someone's kicked out of the End of Days, but Corbin himself also almost never kicks out of finishers. This is because when he was working with WWE early on, the Undertaker came down to the performance center to train with some of the guys they'd just signed, and Baron asked him what forms of advice he had. Take liked the concept for the EoD and told him "Protect that finish. You'll know when it's time to let it go, but protect the hell out of it." So whenever Baron is working matches with people and planning for them, he tells them I won't kick out of your finish, I would appreciate if you don't kick out of mine.

Goldust is worth mentioning. Nobody ever kicked out of a Goldust finisher, the pin was either broken by outside interference or he won the match.

The thing is, in wrestling, there's almost an unspoken tier to the moves-
Everyone has a signature, something that's theirs that is used to hype up the crowd and potentially either swing momentum or lead up to the true finale.

Most people have a finisher, their go to move for ending a match, the thing that defines them as a character and that is effectively the backbone of what their style actually is.

But there's something I get glimpses of, whether it's Orton's punt kick, or Taker's Hells Gate-

There's almost a level above regular finishers that doesn't really have a name, where a wrestler's character has something so strong, it can only be used as a last resort due to how dangerous it's presented, the sorts of moves that get kayfabe banned for being too dangerous, or that can literally "injure" someone just for taking it once.

And I'm fascinated by the idea of these killer moves, because they do something that, frankly, normal finishers just can't do anymore, they're higher stakes and have a level of scarcity that makes them unique. It's better story telling if someone has one move that they rarely use that always ends a fight, than a handful of moves they use consistently that occasionally win a fight.

A wrestler is only as good as the stories they can tell, and their moves are the beats of that story.
If you end on a weak beat, you're gonna have a weak ending.

Dude what's crazy about Corbin's end of days & deep six is he accidentally created those moves and end of days is one of my favorite finishers!!! 💯💯

I just saw a vid the other day where Corbin was talking about advice he got from Taker and it was to protect your finisher. Nice to see it makes the list.

Gunther has more than one move that he is still undefeated

Still can't believe Baron Corbin's end of days was never kicked out of for so long. Funny that Drew McIntyre was the one to do it, since his own claymore kick is well protected as well. As a reminder : he never recaptured his WWE Championship from Bobby Lashley cause he could never hit the claymore.

Undertaker not wanting to kick out of the 3D gives me more respect for him.

Orton should've given Michael's an RKO on the concrete floor for his no selling of the Punt Kick. For the record, Arn Anderson came up with the Punt Kick. Randy said so himself.
