New song I wrote yesterday (April 14, 2020) with @Brent Cobb and Rob Snyder called "Six Feet Apart." It's about the current times and us looking forward to the day all of this is over. I hope y'all like it.

--
When the dogwoods start to bloom
And the crickets hum their tune
It’s usually about the time
That I feel most alive

But the news has all been bad
And the world just seems so sad
I ain’t had much else going on
So I sat down and wrote this song

I miss my mom, I miss my dad
I miss the road, I miss my band
Giving hugs and shaking hands
It’s a mystery I suppose
Just how long this thing goes
But there’ll be crowds and there’ll be shows
And there will be light after dark
Some day when we aren’t six feet apart

First thing that I’m gonna do
Is slide on in some corner booth
Take the whole damn family out
And buy my buddies all a round
Pay some extra on the tab
Catch a movie, catch a cab
Watch a ballgame from the stands
Probably over wash my hands

I miss my mom, I miss my dad
I miss the road, I miss my band
Giving hugs and shaking hands
It’s a mystery I suppose
Just how long this thing goes
But there’ll be crowds and there’ll be shows
And there will be light after dark
Some day when we aren’t six feet apart

I miss my mom, I miss my dad
I miss the road, I miss my band
Giving hugs and shaking hands
It’s a mystery I suppose
Just how long this thing goes
But there’ll be crowds and there’ll be shows
And there will be light after dark
Some day when we aren’t six feet apart

Well there will be light after dark
Some day when we aren’t six feet apart

"I miss my mom, I miss my dad"- que water works. This song is beautiful and completely captures how I (and I am sure most people) are feeling. Thank you so much Luke! 💛

This man could read the ingredients off the back of a cereal box and make it sound good

I know this is about quarantine, but I like to look at this from the perspective of someone who has passed on and the six feet apart is the depth of the grave and they are longing for the day they'll be back together after this life in heaven

Not even fair that he can write a song about anything and everything. Just too damn good.

This needs to be on the radio everywhere. I was thinking just the other day that Luke Combs is one of few people able to turn everyday life into something beautiful with every song.

I kinda cringe when your hear artist start talking of writing a song about Covid19. But man, you nailed it without even mentioning it., and in a true Luke Combs way, Love it well done.

Reminds me of “Where were you (When the world stopped turning)”. Great song. People need this.

This man could release a CD with all the new songs he’s done during the quarantine

I definately expected this to have a comedic tone; instead Luke has managed to capture the essence of what most people are feeling during this time. I can't relate to missing being on the road or performing to a crowd, but I miss my normal life and people in it.
