Ivan Kupala Day. From the evening of July 6th through July 7th, people celebrate the arrival of summer with centuries-old traditions. I had the chance to attend the celebrations earlier.

Slavic pagans celebration relates to the summer solstice. The biggest summer holiday.
It's not the religion holiday where people talk about gods. It's just about following old traditions and having fun. When more than 1000 years ago Orthodox religion came to the country they re-named the holiday to St Johns Orthodox holiday.
There is a myth related to this holiday. People believed that only once a year, on Ivana Kupala's day you can find the fern flower in the forest. This flower will bring you fortune and love.

I remember when I was a child I was waiting for this holiday like it was something huge for me during my summer brake.
