We hit the streets of Manila, Philippines to find out what Filipinas consider beautiful. The opinions expressed in this video are those of individual interviewees alone and do not reflect the views of ASIAN BOSS or the general Filipino population.

Special thanks to our reporter, Hazel, cameraman, Raymond (Luna Films) and project manager Cheryl.

We believe that any ordinary person can deliver real news and commentary. Through our original and in-depth interviews of real people, we will challenge you - the global youth - to think critically and challenge various cultural and social issues.

In Philippines we consider that a guy is handsome if he smells good and have a proper hygiene... We consider it as attractive

There are three standards of beauty in the Philippines:
1) Morena / Moreno - Dark skinned beauty
2) Mestiza / Mestizo - Light skinned beauty (Caucasian features)
3) Chinita / Chinito -- East Asian features (Chinese, Japanese, Korean)

Filipinos like symmetrical face, healthy looking body and and healthy skin. It doesn't matter what color you are.

In short ayaw namin sa mukhang mabaho, mukhang di naliligo, mukhang sakitin at mutain. Hahaha!

(Yan kinorek ko na, "East Asian", kaya ko lang sinabing North eh kasi North of Philippines.)

I lived in Philippines almost half of my life. The people there doesn't actually have standards, you can go out bare faced and no one will care about how you look. As long as you respect other people, you are beautiful.

I really love that girl with gorgeous brown skin who said "Morena is the new beautiful." She's actually pretty.

To me, Tagalog sounds like Spanish words mixed with English but pronounced Hindi in a Malaysian accent

Hello all! There's an increasing number of Filipinas who are embracing their natural beauty. Thanks to education and cultural exchanges and the Internet. Cheers to all of us--morena, mestiza and chinita Filipinas!

Their language is like Spanish, English and their own all mixed together! I’m actually so surprised they think slanted eyes are attractive and a good beauty standard because almost all North East Asians countries wanna get plastic surgery to have bigger eyes, Y'all are beautiful though

These are some intelligent girls!!! So beautiful and so smart. They're so adorable. They know what the beauty standard is but they also know what's really important.

i noticed that a white filipina wants to be "morena" (darker skin) while a morena filipina wants lighter skin.
