HOW TO: SEPARATE & FLUFF YOUR CURLS FOR VOLUME

Hey you guys! I get asked a lot on my technique to separate and fluff my curls so here is a break down of it. It took me 20 minutes to separate (I know I know, watch the video for why) and 5 minutes to fluff. I do this same technique for all styles: twists, braids, rods, etc.

TIPS:

1. Use product that gives good hold/moisture
2. Make sure you braid/twist/roll tightly
3. Let style dry completely
4. Apply oil to hands before separating
5. Take small pieces where it naturally parts, and twirl end around finger or smooth the hair all the way down
6. To fluff, focus on the roots
7. Don't comb all the way through

I definitely wake up an extra half hour just to untwist. Then proceed to working a ten hour shift. Sacrifices have to be made to achieve the look you want. So I totally understand.
