I'm not worried about not waking up... I'm more worried about not going completely asleep

When I had surgery my parents took turns sleeping on the couch next to me just so they could get me a glass of water or help me get up off the bed so I could go to the toilet. They took care of me for almost a week like they did when I was a baby and my god I am so thankful for them. I wasn’t in pain, just very weak

I woke up during abdominal surgery when the 11" cut was open. I screamed, and the 2 anaesthetists (1 senior & 1 junior) ran to my side. I heard one say (we've taken her out too much). I was quickly put under and awoke later to a beautifully stitched scar and pain-free from a drip.
Next day I asked my surgeon about waking up. He gently told me that was rare. It didn't cause me any trauma. A few years later I was rushed to hospital for a more serious surgery. I had no fear at all. I trust surgeons and hospital staff, which makes a difference. My recovery time is fast and both Surgeons said it is because of my attitude. That brought me great relief.

I know that her boyfriend is being kinda supportive, and it was her idea to get it BUT….. she is a beautiful woman and it would be nice for people to tell her that she is perfectly beautiful the way she is!

I’ve had many, many surgeries throughout the course of my life — none were elective — and I can’t imagine wanting any kind of elective surgery so badly that I’d go through that yet again. Just seeing this woman after her surgery makes me feel awful, remembering what that feels like. I have to work hard to avoid a panic attack if I even go visit someone in a hospital, so walking in to volunteer for a surgical procedure under general anesthesia would probably cause me to have a full meltdown.

While her three children are being raised by other family members in Brazil, she’s here in the states getting 1, 000s of dollars of surgery. Our babies are only babies once. How she’s able to live wo hugging, holding, kissing etc her babies blows my mind.

My aunt didn’t wake up from anesthesia she was 5 years old and they were removing her appendix. It might be unusual but it do happen. I understand why people are nervous.

I will never get used to seeing American patients being discharged so soon after surgery...I know it's a cost issue sometimes... but honestly I am so glad I don't live there or feel the need for plastic (unnecessary) surgery....wow, imagine being the carer and the responsibility on you to look out for any complications post surgery in some hotel somewhere....

I’ve always taken plastic surgery really seriously because I grew up watching Clueless over and over again, and Cher’s mum died from a routine liposuction. Since then ive been terrified of the idea of any of it 😂

This woman was gorgeous before her surgery! What's wrong with our society that makes such a beautiful woman feel like she needs to surgically "improve" herself?

I was under anesthesia gor an endoscopy and honestly, the being unconscious part was kinda the best part because it gets trippy when you wake up. It's like time travel and you feel good and kinda rested when you wake up a second time.

As someone who has irregular sleep, going under and getting restorative sleep is just plain amazing, in fact when I hear someone trying to wake me up after surgery, I'm mentally fighting to stay asleep. It's such a warm fuzzy feeling, I want to be left alone to sleep it off. I tell them in advance to give me antinausea medicine in my IV before they wake me.

I woke up during surgery once, and it was absolute hell, scariest shit I've experienced.
I've also not woken up after three different surgeries, which scared everyone else.
So, my doctors have to take extra precautions when I'm supposed to have surgery.

0:53 my mother is allergic to anesthesia and there are several brands or types of anesthesia but they still haven't found something that she doesn't react to. She's had IDK 10+ surgeries in her lifetime and I can remember 4 times when she coded on the table and they had to bring her back because she just stops breathing. It scares the crap out of us (her kids) I can only imagine how she must feel before a surgery. She is going to need a surgery soon because when she had breast cancer 20 years ago the implants from that are leaking. Well they have been leaking for years but she was a smoker and the doctor wouldn't operate until she quit smoking and now that shes quit, they've done the scans and have to do an MRI because the doctor said there is huge masses around her implants and he doesn't know if its cancer or the silicone from the leaking implant. Either way it freaking sucks

I've been under anesthia 26 times in my life. One time I threw up after, but basically they all were completly smooth. I got used to going under too so I wasn't afraid.
