Hey Nick. I work at a major, big city public aquarium. Some advice/concerns:

1) When you said you had to "buy some water" were you talking about salt water or RO water? It looks like you have a lot of evaporation in the big tank and especially the pool pond. That causes the salinity to go through the roof and poisons the fish. You need to CONSTANTLY replace evaporated salt water with fresh water so that the salinity remains constant. The evaporation that you have looks extreme and is a big problem.
2) All of that crap in your pool pond certainly seems to indicate you are not vacuuming (which you say you're going to start doing) or doing water changes. This is the #1 most important thing that you HAVE to do. That pond must have ammonia and nitrate levels off the charts. Are you testing the water? You need to stay on top of your salinity, nitrates and ammonia and I guarantee that your fish will stop dying if you do frequent (weekly) water changes once your levels get down to normal.
3) Your Hippo tang is not dying of old age. They live much longer than 15 years. If that thing has good water, it'll live forever.
4) You can't have the caves next to each other. Spread them out. Add more rocks. Create some blind spots between caves. Maybe get some big PVC elbows that your fish can hide in. More hiding spaces and blind spots = your fish not cramming themselves in one cave and hiding all the time.
5) Eels are jumpers. Your eels are going to jump out of your uncovered pond. It's a guarantee.
6) All of your problems are related. Not topping off your tanks, not cleaning your tanks, not doing water changes makes - literally - a toxic soup that kills fish. Throw in overpopulation and not quarantining your fish, especially the wild caught (I assume you're not deworming them or dosing anti-parasitic when you add them) all adds up to where we are now.... Lots of videos where you buy new fish and add them to tanks where last week's new fish used to be.

Just some friendly advice. A lot of people watch your videos because they're the equivalent of a car crash (admittedly, including me), but you can get better!

I can bet with such a large amount of water, lots of evaportion, this is not kept topped up with fresh water, therefore inconsistent salinity, therefore unhappy fish, +nitrates through the roof

Nick i love your videos anf I wish the best of luck for you but im worried about the animals your keeping. I'm in the reef hobby and im afraid thats the reason your fish aren't happy is bc your parameters for your tank. Do you test your tank? I always see bubbles in your tank which means your pump is running dry and your salinity is raising. And salinity levels going up and down can really stress out the fish

You need lots more rock so your fish have hiding places in the pool pond before you start losing fish

Hi nick. Do you own a test kit. Ph must be stable. This is why you acclimate for ph. You need a gravel cleaner to do water changes. This removes debris to prevent more dissolved organics. When you disturbed you gravel in the big tank, I saw too much debris float up.

You need to STOP getting fish or hire someone else to take care of them because you seem to loose a lot of fish and never talk about it...Don't get me wrong, I like your videos but be upfront with us.

You need a lid for that pond! Those eel's are notorious jumpers...as seen in the bag

Nick I think you should really try coral Start off with just 2 or 3 soft corals in the big tank to get yourself educated and good with them, They are so amazing and you could really expand your channel. I am brand new to salt water. Just got a tank setup and I plan to get right into Corals. I know you can do it. funny to see you at the aquarium shop I was just there today, I plan to make that my go to place !

He says I don’t know a whole lot about corals. Of course not he don’t even know the fish he is buying lol

You should have some substrate and put in corals there would be better enrichment for the fish if you added more plants, rocks, and coral.

That beta fish is really gorgeous. You should get it if it can live in the same tank as your other fish. Love watching your videos and Paul’s videos. Keep the vids coming Nick!

2:09 That’s a Coral Hind Grouper. They’re a really pretty fish in the aquarium industry, plus they could potentially make a great edition to the Pool Pond.Nick, if you’re reading this, I know that you have 2 Giant Groupers to take care, but please consider on getting a Coral Hind Grouper
