Typhoon Mawar comes ashore in Guam as a category 4 storm bringing with it high winds, heavy rains and a dangerous storm surge. The National Weather Service says the storm's center passed over the northern tip of Guam Wednesday. The agency earlier warned of a "triple threat of rain, wind and storm surge" and officials are bracing for "considerable damage" across the territory. The weather service advised people to take cover and remain in shelter for the next few hours. This is the strongest storm to hit the u-s pacific territory in decades.
