Floor 1: The idea that Guiding Light brought you here sounds very plausible, when you consider the fact that the first time you die in The Hotel it doesn’t introduce itself like Curious Light does the first time you die in The Rooms, “Oh… Hello.” This suggests that Guiding Light isn’t surprised you are in The Hotel, like it was expecting you. If Guiding Light brought you here, then why? It’s not malicious clearly, as it assists us through The Hotel, but maybe it brought us because it needs our help? We know we as the player have some form of ability to help these Lights as suggested by Curious Light requesting us to return to The Rooms when we die, in hopes that we reach A-1000.

One interesting piece of dialogue from El Goblino is when he asks, “who do you think built this place? The Hotel I mean?” If we are to believe that the Lights are referred to as “Architects” it could be possible they are in some way responsible for the creation of The Hotel and what it would eventually become. Another interesting question he asks is, “Do you believe in a higher power?” Of course, it is confirmed the game is not taking a religious direction, but what if El Goblino is referring to the supposed “Celestials”?

The following is heavy speculation but here we go:
The Lights are the Architects of The Hotel. They built it, and the labs and the mines during WW2 in order to build biological medical advancements (Herb of Viridis) and weapons (the entities). Their experiments eventually lead to the outbreak of the entities, catching the attention of a higher power, the Celestials, who removed The Hotel from reality in order to contain the entities. The Architects were turned into Lights, and they each reacted to their fates differently.

The Guiding Light became remorseful from the tragedy of the outbreak and works to keep the dangerous entities contained in The Hotel. The Curious Light is unclear, perhaps it is trying to find a way to escape, and wanted us to reach A-1000 as a possible way to leave. When it’s not looking for a way to escape it seems to cooperate with whatever entity it refers to as “She”, possibly the celestial like you suggested. The currently unnamed Red Light is a traitor. It weakens the effects of the crucifix when used on Figure and Seek. It blocks the path to The Rooms. It’s modifiers can make The Hotel an even more brutal challenge.

The Red Light is “Team Entities.” Perhaps as one of the Architects it was personally responsible for their creation, maybe even their outbreak. Similar to Curious Light it is looking to escape The Hotel, but it intends to bring the entities with it. This is why Guiding Light brought us, to prevent another tragedy, another outbreak, to find a way to keep the entities from ever escaping The Hotel, causing death and destruction across reality.
