Mogens Dalsgaard plays Gershwins three preludes

The three preludes was first performed at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York in 1926. Gershwin originally planned to compose 24 preludes, but the number was reduced to seven in manuscript form, and then reduced ti five in public performence, and further decreased to three when published in 1926.

I love this video! I studied this work with Mr. Dalsgaard in a master class in about 1985 at the University of Central Missouri. Gershwin offers great space for expression and nuance and this performance of Preludes provides a deep well of inspiration and insight.
