The look on Mr. Horse's face when you made the dog-growl was priceless. Sort of a cross between "Uh-oh, now what" and "Dad is taking a foreign language course" .

lol that horse grumble you made was spot on. what an interesting thing, i never thought about how domesticated animals may respond differently to our tone. beautiful horse btw, lovely tack too. never been near horses, but it's always amazing to see folk who understand an animal so deeply that this kind of bond can be made

My farrier says he enjoys coming to our barn because all four horses are "good". NOTHING startles or upsets them. Not even fireworks, lightening or gun shots. They are confident and trusting. I am a calm and reliable caretaker. Alphahorse!😂 I enjoy your videos. Pick up useful tips!❤

So glad you mention this. A lot of people don't pay attention to the way animals speak (when they speak). Also I think horses especially deserve a lot of credit or interpreting or translating the vocalizations their humans make at them and learning what it means rather than reacting to what it sounds like.

I own domesticated rats and high pitch voices are necessary for clarity. Most of their vocalizing is above what humans can hear. Accept for squawks when hurt or annoyed. Long as you're calm, use a soft high voice, and use lots of treats they will learn to trust you. Rats and horses are both social prey animals. So facinating to see how being a massive prey animals vs a small one changes behaviors

They do not see why humans would rather walk on boards instead of going around them. 😅😅
