Building with the Carters

Since the inaugural event in 1984, the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project has mobilized more than 100,000 volunteers to build and repair 4,390 homes alongside homeowners and two of Habitat's most committed humanitarians. The Carters embraced Habitat's mission and helped our organization gain international recognition for building and advocating for decent, affordable housing. We continue to honor and celebrate the Carters' lasting legacy through Habitat's annual Carter Work Project.
