bought my e30 with a broken odo that said 140k miles after getting the carfax for it i found out it had 250k miles in 2007 hahaha. Has atleast 400k on it now with the same motor and is still going strong!

I would add one thing, the water pumps on the M20 are behind the timing belt and they are fairly inexpensive so if you replace them every other timing belt change you will save yourself from a really bad day later on.

Biggest rust spots are likely under the gas pedal and those square "jack point" boxes underneath the front corners.

Don't let mileage scare you, you say, however certainly be aware of the actual mileage as it relates to the timing belt!

Also manual E30s are more rare and desired than automatics so factor that into the purchase price.
