Attorney Ben Crump announces new lawsuits filed against Harris County for alleged abuse of inmates

Civil rights attorney Ben Crump held a news conference Friday evening to announce two new lawsuits have been filed against Harris County for the deaths and alleged abuse of eight inmates.

This is going on in Harris county for a while long. Looks like a lot of criminal behavior is tolerated for the authorities.I hope Mr. Crump can succeed this time.

My daughters father was in harris County in 2004 for tickets. They beat him to death left him in the cell for 45 minutes he was brain dead. They didn't call for help. Im so glad they are being exposed. Now cecil jasper you can rest. Exposed. They was angry because he talked back to them crazy like they did him. Death was his sentence.

That many inmates coming up dead? Something is wrong and needs to be done.People have to pay for there crimes but they should not end up dead.

I was in there in 1976 and I was only 16, traffic warrants, put me in the drunk tank, fell asleep on the floor and while I was asleep they moved everyone else out to cells, I was sleeping on my side facing away from the way in and next thing I know is I'm being kicked so hard in the lower back that it's scooting me across the floor and as I'm getting to my feet I'm shoved head first into the bars and as I bounced back off them I'm grabbed by my hair and yanked all around while getting punched in the face, it was a big black jailer, after all that I was sent to a cell, I was already on juveniles probation so reported it to my probation officer, they took pictures of the bruises on my back and the knot on my head from the bars, patches of hair missing and made a report, P.O. told me that they got put on paid leave, knew from then on there was no justice in Houston, Texas and never gave them the chance to do that to me again, it's like inmates say in jail all over the country, THERE'S NO JUSTICE! JUST US!

I've witnessed excessive force while I was locked up in Harris County. It took them 6 guards to beat on a little skinny 18 year old black kid who was only upset about learning that his mom died and they wanted him go keep quiet so they gathered together and rushed up and beat him senseless while he was alone in his cell

Two and half deaths per month. Sounds corrupt to me. It seems like they don’t care about the people in jail. It seems like the standard is death if they can pass an inspection.

Jail commission needs to be investigated. Find out who they are and what exact relationships they have with sheriff's department. And find out if money from sheriff's dept. money went to jail commission pockets. FOLLOW THE MONEY !!!

"You have no rights in jail/prison" is no longer an acceptable excuse to justify harsh treatment/conditions in jail/prison.
