UVXY ETF Analysis as The VIX Plums new lows, here are my thoughts on UVXY ETF and volatility

UVXY ETF is tied to The VIX and in this video I outline the case that while The VIX is falling to multi-year lows, the eventuality is that volatility will return and it is likely to be sooner rather than later. UVXY ETF is a solid proxy for the VIX if you want to learn how to trade volatility, learn how to trade UVXY ETF, and learn how to trade The VIX. Volatility is a measure of perceived standard deviation driven by market moves from market participants. Given this, UVXY is moving lower and lower along with The VIX as market participants sit back instead of bidding up future-dated options pricing. However, UVXY ETF is a 1.5x measure so, when volatility returns to the market, UVXY ETF will move back upward at a pace of 1.5x.

There’s a lot of open interest at 2.50 and 3.00 on options. Will market makers try to suppress uvxy so as to not pay out given it’s still at 2.24

For some reason when i see retail very bullish and smart money selling the over all market i just need to by the UVXY shares under 3 bucks. No reason for it not to go back near the 8 to 10 dollar range. whats your thoughts

Hi D.H., uvxy is way under $3 now and S&P is about 6% above the 50 day SMA. Will volatility come back to close this gap or will the SMA just catch up? Seems like there’s no event to cause people to sell.
