I have to give credit to one of the best and baddest and biggest shaker and mover that Milwaukee Wisconsin has ever had in its mist, Mr. Artis Jones from Houston Texas. What does this gentleman have to do with the Crusaders? In the 1980s Mr. Artis opened a jazz club on 32nd and Villard called ARJ'S. And to my knowledge, no one could bring the best of the best jazz musicians to Milwaukee like he could. And because this brother was born and raised in Houston, Texas, he was able to bring in TopFlight acts such as Ronnie Laws and the rest of the family, as well as the Crusaders and others from the State of Texas. This brother helped complete my life's journey when he made it possible to see and hear legends like: Nancy Wilson, Phil Perry, Marion Meddles, Nick Corleone, and others. The climax of this story came just like the climax that everyone felt in this video when the Crusaders ended the concert with the audience singing over and over: "keep on....keep that same old feeling. It would be something if Artis Jones was up in the Heavens still helping Wayne Henderson pack in the crowds.
