Thanks for making these videos we need more Australians helping us on how to do things in our cars so we don't get rip off by dishonest mechanics. I see lots of American videos that somehow help me to understand how to do thing by myself, but we need more Australian mechanics to do videos like this because the American cars do not have the same specs as the ones here.

If you use a longer screw and keep screwing it in, it will push the crank seal out. Just file the tip of the screw so it's not sharp

Sorry for the dumb question but you do have to drain the engine oil out before doing this, right?

Apparently the Ecotech ends up leaking coolant from between the back of block & trans cos that plate (where the rear main seal sits into) begins to rust out.
Isn't it worth replacing that whole plate and rear main while you've got the trans out?

I will be changing mine in a couple of days.
One question, do you have to have to put back the flywheel (manual) exactly as it was or there is no difference? I don't know there might be some special balancing stuff.

If you remove the plate will you need to use any rtv sealant if you have a gasket

Do you have to do anything to support the engine one your pulling the transmission out or will it be ok/safe just sitting there doing it's own thing and is that how you did it

If replacing the cover plate that comes with the gasket, rear seal on bolts, does it need to be aligned with a straight edge along the block and the bottom of the plate? Is there locating dowels on the rear cover plate?

NAT seal told me the seal must not go into the crank with the spring side inside the housing cause if the spring came loose it would damage the crank where as if the spring was on the outside then if it failed it would not be doing any harm to the shaft. makes sense to me but the bevels of the seal should alwasys be beveled toward the oil pressure.

I've gotta do my rear main seal but there's oil dripping all around where the oil filter is. Is that the front main seal or something or is all from the rear seal

I replaced the gasket on the plate and the seal, then realised the crank seal was like 1mm out of centre on the top and bottom... before I go and re do this again, I’m wondering how you go about sealing where the plate meets the sump, I used liquid gasket and it still seeped out one of the corners, there’s not even oil in it, just residual oil... wish I’d just left it alone now but some advice so I get it right this time around would be highly appreciated. Thanks mate.

I have a ford Territory 2005 and I search on google to see how many litters the engine takes and it says 7 to 8 litters. I am not sure about that so I would like someone here to tell me please if that is correct. Thank you!
