I’ve used this method it works but I literally just pulled my rear main seal same technique but used the rear side of a hammer to pull it out worked like butter and no pressure on the crank 💪🏾

And then check to see if the aluminum plate that holds the rear main oil seal has any seals behind it.

No, sometimes the seal is stuck, and the screw will not pull it out. This method does work sometimes, but the video is misleading. It will never be this easy.

Not gonna lie I winched a bit when your needle nose made contact with the crankshaft, but no harm no foul. I use a slide hammer but yea self tapping screws come in clutch.

Or you can put 2 screws one on each side if its tight so you have better leverage

They have a tool for that. So you dint fuck up the crank. This is a lesson to hire a proper mechanic.
