This is honestly one of the more neat cars you’ve had on the channel

Cleetus always has time for people and fun. It's up to you to find the time. It would definitely be some awesome videos with you too kicking it

I’m over here screaming watching Adam hammer that chisel between the 3rd member and the housing

Watching Adam struggle and learn about leaf springs and solid axles has been the best content on the channel😂

Some tips and info. Your axle is a simifloat, hence the bolts at the end of the axle tube. Full float axles have bolts for the axle shaft on the very end of the hub. Big trucks use those kind. C clip axles are like what was said in the vid, but youll never see that with a 3rd member because you cant axcess the c clips. 9in diff is stonger than 8.8 because the pinion is supported by a bearing on both sides of the pinion gear and ofcourse the ring gear difference adds strength. prussian blue works but actual yellow gear marking compound is definitely better. Your gear pattern is set by your pinion depth. Back lash will effect it slightly but major changes will be in pinion depth. The spanners are what you're calling the shims. Calling them shims is fine really but you know the internet. Spanners set your backlash as well as your bearing preload. Setting preload on tape bearings is just as critical as backlash. Since you took your pinion nut off you'll also need to set pinion preload and possibly put in a new crush sleeve unless it's shim style pinion gear. Pinion preload differs with new vs old bearings. Hope that helps

watching this type of mods and driving is honestly so fun. the calls with cleetus, the dodgy mechanics, the sandbags… perfect 😂👌

Seeing Adam have absolutely no idea what’s going on is absolutely hilarious to me. I don’t think he realized the adjustment for backlash was threaded not just grooves lol. I hope the diff hold together and doesn’t just blow apart

Lmao Adam's hard-core look and lick of the lip before that launch at 22:56 had me dying.😂

That’s funny as hell that cleetus is the only one who knows what’s going on 😂

I'm 49 years old and I know less about this than you do; even though a rotary Rx3 was the first proper petrol head car I ever hooned around in when I was a teenager. I love fast cars, but I'm a electronics guy and know my way around a circuit extremely well, but mechanics? no idea, never really fooled around with it. I love that you are doing this and I gotta say; I already liked you mate, but the fact you are willing to just feel your way through this live on youtube, without GAF about the old boys in the comments, makes me appreciate you even more.

Adam will Flex on you not even realizing it. This whole time I was thinking “why not just look it up on YouTube” takes it one step further and calls the YouTuber 🤯

It was definitely painful watching the center chunk being pried on with the axels still being in 😂
Glad you’re venturing out dude 🤘🏼
