WIN Time™ and HB4545

Показать описание
Have you heard about HB 4545? How are you going to meet the requirements?
Here are some of the requirements:
1. Accelerated Learning Committees (ALCs) required for a student who did not perform satisfactorily on 3rd, 5th, and 8th math and reading.
2. ALC must develop a plan for each student by the beginning of the year to be successful on STAAR by the end of the year. The plan must be in writing and shared with the parent. If the student is not successful at the end of the year, the superintendent or designee must meet with the committee to determine the reason.
Any student who is not successful on STAAR must have tutorials or accelerated instruction during the summer or following year. This requirement would be met by placing with a master teacher or provided 30 hours of supplemental instruction
The supplemental instruction must-
include targeted instruction in the TEKS (Texas state standards) for the applicable grade level and subject area
Provided in addition to instruction normally provided*
No less than 30 hours subsequent summer or school year
Assist the student in achieving satisfactory performance
Small group of 3 or more if agreed by the parents
Ideally, use the same person throughout the accelerated instruction
Use appropriate instructional material
Teacher trained in instructional material
*The student cannot be removed from grade-level content in the foundational curriculum, enrichment classes, physical activity.
