She is the crown jewel in Andre's show and his pupil. He follows her and the orchestra follows him, perfect teamwork. She can not sing a regular one hour show so on the world tour she sings 2 song in 4 languages. She is a Grand Little Lady, all of it.

Emma brengt elke concert dezelfde uitmuntende zang ten gehore. Emma is echt een fenomeen..
Haar kleding en juwelen zijn helemaal afgestemd op haar nieuwe song op basis van sterren. Speciaal gemaakt voor haar in verband met haar nieuwe song. Alles is compleet af.
Ga door met jouw goede werk en bedankt voor jouw hartverwarmende reactie.

Her voice has developed some real power and stamina. Very powerful, for such a tiny young woman.

IMO Emma has the gift of magnetism as she mesmerizes and holds any audience in the palm of her hand. Every time I hear her sing I feel a swell of emotions come over me including tears and from the look on many of the faces of the audience members, many feel the same way.

Clearly singing/performing IS her freedom. The freedom to expres her longings, struggles and happiness. She's a great storyteller and has the voice to color every emotion. And this is just her start ...
Thanks for your reaction.

Indeed, it is good to be alive, to hear Emma singing. Thank you for your fantastic reaction. Apparently you are not aware of some exceptional videos of hers on YouTube.F.e.

Here disease is called "gastropharesys". She has a little tube that trought the abdomen goes directly into her stomach. She must connect that tube with a feeding machine 20-22 hours a day; she full the machine with all the nutriets needed several times a day and she bring the machine with her all day in her backpack. She usually disconnect the machine few minutes before going on stage, perform the singing, than go backstage and connect the feeding machine

This young lady is a precious jewel. Her story aside, she has the voice of an angel. I'm 65, spent 16 years in the Marine Corps, another 30 working in construction, I've seen and done things that'll curl your hair and make you go wtf!
As soon as the first words leave her lips them onion cutting ninjas get me every time.

You are so right "no matter what she sings", because Emma is not only a very gifted vocalist, she also is able to convey emotions in a way not many can. She really knows what a song means to her before she will perform it anyway. And this song is no exception: André and Emma have been working at this song together for many hours so developing the meaning she wanted to give it. The song is written by Tjeerd Oosterhuis about 20 years ago, so long before Emma was born. Since about 3 years he and Emma are working together to produce orginal music for her (in fact a few songs have been released and you can find them on Emma's channel). It is during one of their writing sessions that Emma came across this song and she felt in love with it. With Tjeerd's permission she took it to one of her rehearsals with André Rieu and asked him if it would be possible for her to perform it one day. He agreed and this is the result... As you can read in other comments, Emma has serious medical issues and André has decided in 2023 to make it possible for Emma to live her dream in the safe and protected environment of him and his orchestra. Her mother is also on tour, so she can give Emma the extra care she needs. And members from the orchestra are helping her with her on-line schoolwork when she runs into a problem.... So, yes this is very special, very touching. As said, Emma has serious issues, she can not eat and 22 hours a day, every day, Emma is depending on feeding pumps since she was only 9 month old (just think about that for one moment..): on stage she stands "like a rock", but she isn't a rock: often she does not feel well at all and she is so weak that she often needs a wheelchair to move around. But being on stage and singing is her "therapy": a few moments that she can snap out of her daily struggle and, as she said in the video, can feel free.

So tjeerd wrote this like 20 years ago. It has never been released what i know of until now when he gave Emma the chance to perform it. I think that in his mind he wanted to wait for a true star to turn up, and that girl was Emma. 😊

My 1st job from 1983 to 1990 was as an electrical engineer building peristaltic pumps for Kidney dialysis machines. Her condition is based on the same principle. Gastroparesis.

The stomach has the same process. Normally. Not only does it mix stomach acids with food, but it's it's designed to pass food after digestion to the bowels, after of course breaking it down. Her stomach doesn't provide that service. Very painful and debilitating.

A feeding pump is needed to get the nutrients there and allow them to be processed.

Hence her tiny size. It's common with the condition to have stunted growth.

Although she's hooked up to the machine for 22 hours a day, it doesn't stop her being one of the best singers I've ever seen.

Lovely to see her mother there. If you look up her performing in Holland previous to previous to Voila you could see her confidence in becoming a star

Dear,
Wordless that is my opinion about your reaction and commentary regarding Dancing on the stars by Emma....
Thanks for your opinion.
Thanks for your words.

Knowing that Emma had to undergo a painful procedure in the hospital 5 days before this performance.
Changing the stoma exit to the stomach which has to be done every 5 months.
Normally under anesthesia but Emma does not want that because the tube in her throat can affect her vocal cords.
This already shows an Emma who knows what she wants.

Emma is simply pure musical sunshine. I think I have an idea that can make someone a lot of money, that is selling boxes of tissues where ever Emma is performing.

Go back and watch the INTRO to voila. Andre explains her illness. She has to be fed through feeding tubes 22 hours a day. So mom has to stay up all night and keep the food coming while she sleeps. It’s basically a milk looking formula. She can drink liquids like tea and that’s about it. So her feeling free means that when she is on stage she is Disconnected from those tubes and pumps. She has lived with that since birth. So far. There is no cure.

A great reaction! Just fyi she is on two feeding machines 22 hours a day that go directly to her stomach. Just recently I watched a vid she put on line of her having the tubes replace. It takes about twenty min normally but due to complications it took an hour and she said it is very painful and patient's are normally put under anesthesia. She refuses the anesthesia because it effects her voice so she deals with the pain. She is amazing and inspiring young woman!!

She is wonderful. Her future will be amazing. She spends 22 hours a day on her stomach machine. She will not let it hold her back.
