1. It's not you; it's them
2. Figure out why you're doing things
3. You are not unique
4. The value of routines

Great video, Halle.

By Far..the most relatable video i've ever watched, we all should overcome the fear of making an impression, and what others think of us although it comes natural at times.

Number 4 routines- I completely understand where you are coming from and the concept makes a lot of sense. However, I got burned on that kind of approach. I was looking for every possible way to make things more simple, effective and 'automatic'. After a while I have realized that I am like a walking robot, doing things on 'autopilot' which will cause you to start ignoring the little details of life, your view angle on life will become much more constricted and narrow. Stuff like this only leads to depression. Routines are healthy in a healthy amount :)

"“No plan of operations extends with certainty beyond the first encounter with the enemy’s main strength.” - Helmuth von Moltke (German Military Strategist, 1800-1891) This quote is often paraphrased as "No plan survives first contact with the enemy." Mike Tyson similarly said, "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth". I think this gets at the center of what you are trying to say. It's good to have plans, but they cannot be so inflexible that they get thrown out the first time something comes up that throws them off balance. A good plan will adapt to circumstances much like how a palm tree will flex in a hurricane, but a mighty oak will snap like a twig with the same winds.

I really resonate with this video. I think I’m a similar person to who what you were when you were 19. Thank you for this, I’ve learned a lot. Lots of this is stuff I’m already working on. Especially the red face stuff and the suboptimal stuff too

I am actually a replica of what he's saying the awkwardness with people the sub optimizations, the way you feel around people, including the way he explains things, , it's just like he's giving a honest description of myself, and there are so much more people out there going through what he went through or still currently faces

Great video, quite different from what you usually upload. My South Korean family moved to Russia when I was 5 y.o., and since then I haven't felt like I fit in this society, mentality is different here, plus racism against Asians is normalized in Russia, was heavily bullied for not being Russian. Now I'm 22, but i no longer struggle as much as I've realized that by trying to fit in society we lose our identity, either way we'll find someone, who shares the same views and interests.

This is so useful, thanks for this man. I've actually had very similar experiences here in Sweden, though I never studied abroad (but I do have a foreign background). The social part that you talked about really resonated so strangely well.

Dude you are great guy. You have an amazing personality, only upload quality on yt and you are good looking #nohomo

Maybe try to stay a little bit more positive when you struggle with yourself. I know from my own experience that this isnt easy especially if you are really idealistic. But at least we could try.
