What’s happening in this movie clip?
In an epic fight, Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy from Inception and The Dark Knight Rises) and Venom attempt to stop Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed from Jason Bourne and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and Riot from collecting the rest of the symbiotes.
After fighting for quite some time, Riot stabs Eddie and leaves him for dead. However, Venom takes possession of Eddie which saves him.

What’s the Venom movie about?
The evolution story of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass character – Venom! Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy from Inception and The Dark Knight Rises) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancée. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers - transforming him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal protector to defeat great evil forces, especially against the far stronger and more weaponized symbiote rival, Riot?

I love this movie a lot, but riot had so many opportunities to win here. He took his own sweet time when almost eating venom, and also decided to mock Eddie and let him die slowly instead of snapping his neck or crushing his skull, most likely with the knowledge that venom was still somewhere nearby. For a creature with access to an entire hive mind worth of information, riot isn't very smart.
