The only reliable fix I've found that works is reduce your resolution and settings moderately, set to 30 frames, run windowed mode. Vulcan for AMD, DX11 for Microsoft.
However, this is still unacceptable and frustrating. It totally defeats the purpose of having a $2500 gaming rig.

Turn of steam cloud saving !!!
This helped me without turning down graphics.
(Bonus: play in windowed borderless )

They literally tell you to verify the integrity. The game is just broken. It's still early access.

imagine having to lower the settings of your graphics when you have 32 gb of ram, 2080 ti, and 9900k. love bg3 to death, but this game has problems.

I just asked for a Steam refund. The game crashes every 10 minutes for me even though my PC spec is fine. I can't be bothered to go through all the things that videos like this tell you to try. I've been there before so many times. The only thing that works is a new PC. I'm not doing that this time as my PC is only just over a year old.

Man i wiped my pc just to have everything perfect for launch, booted it up and locked my pc up after 30 my gpu and cpu and its still happening haha, i think i have a bigger issue and im downloading geforce now, ive been waiting for years for this fml

For win 7 users - if you can't launch the game (black screen and infinite loading) just press shift and double click on launch icon of the game - it launches game like a charm, as ridiculous as it is =)))

When I start the game it loads 100 percent but then I can't push any buttons to continue to the main screen

had this problem multipul times, first time i turned triple buffering to double and that worked like a charm, this time i had to disable cloud saving on steam, borderless window and medium settings working fine now.

nah. i got it on ssd, 32gb ram 1080 ti. keeps crashing now. did the tutorial fine but now crashes every 5 minutes with this directX crash error.

I was using a samsung smart tv for a monitor and my pc drivers keept crashing and become uninstalled, tried everything didnt work for me but I switched my PC to a older non smart samsung tv and the problem is gone, the game is running great and playing on ultra settings no problems

Was crashing during the intro portion right around where you have to climb the walls to get to shadow heart. Only fix I found was turning off firewalls. Have a good setup and everything runs smooth. Only other thing that may if helped is capping frames to 60
