Beautiful Place #314 Historic Petersburg Virginia You Won't Believe What I Saw

Man if you love history then Virginia is the place for you . This state has so much to offer , I was only supposed to be passing through and can't seem to get out of here .

Today we are exploring Petersburg a place rich in both Civil War history and Railroad history . Like any great place I share do your research on these places . I'm not here to give history lessons . If your in the Richmond area make sure you visit this place you won't be disappointed.

Great video of Petersburg Virginia. Petersburg should capitalize on their history as Gettysburg Pennsylvania has. They have the history!

This is an interesting video. I'm looking for the old Reuben Ragland's Tobacco Factory on Washington St. It was Confederate States Hospital in 1862. I don't know if it still stands. My husband's great grandfather died there in 1862.

I walk around those streets every day....love it. And there is so much more going on there, a few mysteries too.

During the Siege, soldiers from both sides could see the courthouse clock from the trenches and they set their timepieces by it. The clock tower was a favorite target of Union artillerists, who poured an estimated 20, 000 shells into the city. When Petersburg fell on April 3, 1865 a Union flag waved above it.
