Ok, to dispell the sprinkler myth, i am a firefighter who has my own DJ company. Sprinklers only go off, contrary to the movies when heat impinges the sprinkler head. If one goes off, that is the only one that goes off. With them being cold spark, it should not set them off because the mechanism that sets them off is set for high heat, around 100 to 150 degrees. The reason your alarm went off is probably from smoke. Most smoke detectors only detect something coming into the eye, even a spider web can set these off. That is why they get set off with fog because the alarm still sees that as “smoke.”

So I used the sparkular minis at an outdoor event about 2 weeks ago. I have an all white setup, white Evs, white booth, etc. My setup was covered in debris. Prime 4 was a mess. I love them but do not set them up anywhere near your booth area. I had them a good distance away and with very little wind was getting covered with dust/debris.

We've only used these once for a wedding and they were hired directly by the Bride & Groom. They were very uncomfortable to be close to when in use and the 'dust' got everywhere including being sucked into our moving head lights. They had to be fully cleaned and serviced after the gig which was time consuming and really annoying considering we didn't get paid for the sparkler hire. Looked good in the photographs though :-)

I have an indoor Reception next weekend and am considering telling the couple we need to cut these from the effects as the ballroom does have sprinklers and that could end in disaster.

Your statement on where and when to use them is exactly what I a thinking. So far in Hampton Roads aka Coastal Virginia no venue or fire marshal allows these indoors.

We own 3 pairs of these. We’ve been using them for sparkler send offs for 6-8 months now. A lot of folks like these as a safe alternative to giving their guests sparklers. (Sparklers burn at 1500* and are often sold out) I’ve not shot them off inside at a wedding yet but there are a few DJs in my area who do often. They’re a great add-on when sold correctly.

Good evening DJ Joe Bunn I have question. How do you setup the remote to the cold sparkler machine

They set off the sprinklers because there are two types of powder. One is for outside and one for inside. The bag I seen you using was the outdoor stuff. So you were right to go outside cause that was that powder is ment for. Also there is a hight adjustment. The remote you had I believe it is using the 15 and 16 buttons to adjust the level of the spark as for dust, you will get that as the total product is not burned, it creates a spark not burning one.
