Love these off season list dives mate. As a footy fan it's such a great in depth analysis to just recap what and who is in the comp and as a North supporter, try and get a read on where our opponents are at.

I was bullish on tbe Crows in 2024 so much like a Melbourne they're a wait and see. I'd hold on buying Crom stocks if I was a a gambling man atm. Boy there's alot for them to look forward too tho.

Nice vid. Best 23 looks good, like you've kept Bond in as he was important playing as the lockdown small defender. If I had to make any changes

Crouch over Laird - Crouch is a better user and decision maker, Laird was moved out to half back late in the season.
Swap Cumming to half back, Nankervis to Wing - Cumming's best football is at half back, but GWS had to play Himmelberg back to resign him meaning Cumming shifted to the wing.
Pedlar out for Dowling - Dowling was our starting Wingman for the second half of the season.

I hope there is a spot for Curtin, he played best last year as a forward at AFL level but his best football in the SANFL was midfield. He might be fighting for a spot with Walker depending on what the coaches want to do with him.

Pretty much matches my assessment. I feel now they have enough depth to cover for injuries which this season some guys played that weren’t ready. Also the form of Butts is a head scratcher. I know he’s had a few injuries but his first year locking down key forwards was outstanding. If he can tap into that again he’s a starter for sure

Fwds - Walker - Thilthorpe - Rachele
Ruck - O'Brien - Peatling - Rankine
I/Change - Crouch - Draper - Curtin - Soligo
Sub - Edwards
Emergencies - Berry - Laird - Butts - Sholl - Bond

Crows at their best could challenge the top 8 with some key caveats. They need to become a consistent 4 quarter team; They need to keep their best team on the park (avoid injuries and suspensions to critical players); They need to play the kids to unleash the speed and power. Win the contest, dispose of the ball to your teams advantage, kick it between the big sticks, and repeat. If any of these elements are missing, the Crows can kiss goodbye to season 2025.

I think people kinda overlooked that for most of the year they were not playing their best defence due to multiple injuries. They just weren't big name players, but they were the best the crows had. This exposed new, and some younger, players to build the defensive depth they were lacking at the start of the year. Add to that the new trades and they have a huge amount of players that can be rolled through defence now.
It was a stumble of a year, but honestly I really didn't care. No way crows could have gotten Draper through trade if they hadn't had a bad year and hopefully it makes it worth it longer term.
Lost a number of close games. Their best was as good as anyone but they need to find that hunger, determination and confidence that Collingwood showed every time they fell behind in a game. Been missing for too long.
I'm tired of seeing heads drop the second something doesn't go right. I want to see some Michael Jordan like players that NEVER give up, no matter how hard they have to work to inspire or single handedly (much harder in footy) drag the team to the win.

Laird can play too's. Tex can play too's also! Curtin and Dowling in! Absolutely MUST keep playing these kids, getting 50-60 games into them ASAP!

Laird has already been moved back onto the half back flank, played the last couple games there. He either plays half back or he is in the 2s, better midfield options now. Ive got Nank on the bench with him at half back flank. Matty crouch goes in the midfield instead as a main rotation. Daws and Soligo the other two main mid rotations with Rankine going 50/50. I don’t think there’s room for both Peatling and Draper in the 22 unfortunately. I’ve also got butts over Keane, it’s a controversial one but for people that have watched every crows game the last couple years and understand the game would’ve seen Murray’s potential to be AA but only when he isn’t having to lock down the best tall forward, butts gives him the freedom to play on the 2nd best which frees him up to be more attacking. Keane despite being better overall than butts isn’t as good one on one against the best tall forwards which means Murray has to take them and be more accountable so the better combo is butts and Murray. Last call is I’ve got Curtin on the bench, high draft pick that needs game time, he can help out in any position on the field defence, midfield and forward but he struggled to get into games when coming on late as sub, needs to be there from the start.

As a crows fan Laird and Crouch aren’t best 23 players and should have been delisted this offseason.
We also need to replace O’Brian I’m hoping Toby Murray develops quickly and replaces him.
Edwards Dowling and Curtin in for Laird Sholl and Walker.

Went from being the top attacking side in the comp to absolutely rubbish in 1 preseason, nicks confused the players with a stupid defensive game plan and too stubborn to play kids even when it was clear the season was over - now we will waste this year getting games into the young blokes and a top 8 finish will be a win - nicks gone after first 10 games if we are not at least even 5/5 - nicks a good rebuild coach but not good enough for a top 4 side - played well in big games and some exciting kids coming through soligo thilthorpe Rash Rankine Draper max curtain worrel plus a few unknowns like edwards Oscar Taylor pedlar Peatling - mixed with some vets like Dawson tex fog ect… should be enough for top 8
