To the Zulu women are insignificant, their creation story's symbolism doesn't acknowledge the female aspect as doing the most work, in human creation nor being the first along with men. Creation, pregnancy, birth, it is all men. Uthuluku, man created everything no Zulu goddess required.

Now I understand why most respectable Zulu people would greet like this : "nginibingelele nina bohlanga" .... I've always wondered where this came from but sengiyazi...

There's also another interesting reason Zulus like round things like round-houses, they sit in round when having meetings or eating, the ukhamba is roundish and many other things...There's a theory why that is the case.

Let's correct, it is not "uthlanga", instead it is "umhlanga."

Can I offer a little help on pronunciation, as a South African who grew up in KwaZulu Natal. It's Oon-KULU-n-KULU.

So corn is part of this creatoon myth. Interesting considering modern scholars say is is indigenous to the Americans. Dont really pay much attention those scholars anyways.

wohw 2 minute creation story haha. i recommend reading INDABA, MY CHILDREN by CREDO MUTWA. the African creation story is too important, probably more so then others from all over the world.

This Zulu creation story is similar to the Bible creation story where Adam was the first god and ancestor to the gods; to man before mankind, where all of man(all gods) came from him just like how uNkulunkulu was the first god and first ancestor to the Zulu people.
So if the ancient Zulus understood that the first man their creator god was an ancestor to them, therefore, the ancient Zulus must have understood well that the first man(Adam the son of God) must have been a black negroe like the Zulus, and because the son of God was a black negroe, therefore, God was also a black negroe just like the Zulus. Wow!
The Bible also makes it clear that Adam was the son of God and therefore was the one who created heaven and earth and all creatures before being made into first man by God which is similar to how uNkulunkulu was the creator of heaven and earth and creatures.

Unkulunkulu name fits with the peak growth in zulu culture, not its beginning (its inclusion as a male zulu name pushes it up to just before the peak cultural growth).

Some similarities to the Hindu myth. Brahma the creator emerges on a lotus flower from Vishnu. Thanks

Unfortunately this is just not the Zulu story of creation. You are spreading misinformation. Ask any Zulu.

UMkhulumkhulu is the right word to use... since the white man can't pronounce UMkhulumkhulu they decided to write what they can pronounce or what makes sense to them...
unkulunkulu has no meaning at all...
