About "Fallen Stars" 🗒️

"I want this, but I know it's not good for me". This is the concept I went into the first draft of Fallen Stars with. Many of us can relate. Whether it's a relationship, an addiction, or any aspect of life that we find ourselves struggling with, Fallen Stars was crafted to embody this idea in a cinematic fashion.

Fallen Stars is a song I've been shaping on-and-off for a few years. I knew I wanted it to sound big but the way it took shape as I called in some of my talented friends is beyond what I'd pictured when I wrote the first draft of this song. Dan Clermont helped me rework the lyrics & melodies, Nate Brown took the production to another level (especially in the final chorus), and Megan Nicole brought the quintessential voice, feel, and sound to this track.

Favorite part.
Third chorus when the lights go out and Cole and Megan are singing. The jump cuts between the green/black and the warm orange lighting in tempo to the up paced climax, with those orchestral strings thrumming and trilling in the background, it’s super powerful.
I also adore that look Megan shoots back at Cole. It’s passionate and also accusatory, which fits perfectly to the theme of heartbreak and clinging to what shouldn’t be.
