❖ Vectors - Finding Magnitude or Length ❖

Vectors - Finding Magnitude or Length. I give the formula, and do a couple examples of finding the magnitude, or length, or a vector.
Note that to find the magnitude or length of a vector we square each component of the vector, add those values together, and then take the square root of that value.
We also look at the notation for the magnitude or length of a vector.

Watched your videos when I was in high school to get me through my maths classes and now I've found my way back as a college grad with an engineering degree. Studying for my certification exam. I couldn't have done it without your help!

sometimes vectors are taught in precalculus; they certainly show up in physics as karen pointed out.

ahahhahaha: saying physics is starting to remind you of calculus is like saying:

physics is starting to remind me of english (cause of all the words!)

This is super helpful! Thank you! My AP physics teacher, despite being the football coach, is a freaking genius and isn't very good at putting this stuff in words that a junior in high school would understand...heck I'm pretty sure other physics teachers have a hard time understanding, because he just....over explains things.

@japanakos23

I'm 18 and currently taking Calculus II. I was 17 (Senior, or last year in high school). Some people take college courses during the summer in high school to complete Calculus in their 3rd year of high school.

Also, depending if they take the AP (Advanced Placement) class, they can take the AB test to fulfill the requirements for Calculus I or the BC test to fulfill the requirements for Calculus II. This will place them into Calculus II/III when they get to college.
