2012 Acura RDX

You can be forgiven for mistaking the 2012 Acura RDX for a Honda CR-V, but there are subtle differences and about $10,000 that separate the two cars.

Sure the GPS looks crunchy and dated but it's still one of the best in the car market. If it works and still gets you where you need to go, no need to change according to Acura. Besides it costs the company lots of $ out of pocket to update the entire GPS OS every year.

Now it’s 2019 my dad got the 2011 Acura RDX and we still own it it’s been 8 years and nothing has really broke only the ac system broke and everything else is still pretty good (now he’s saving up for a 2019 mdx)

Yeah I see what you are saying... But if you were looking @ a hyundai or kia, at lets say $25, 000, you really won't be looking at a similarly equipped acura at almost $40, 000. Also, the quality of the cars are different. For instance, why would you pick a BMW X5 for about $55, 000 when you could get a Toyota Highlander, with a similar amount of power and amenities, for less than $40, 000? The quality (and the name) really make the car.

@oldschool1 The price of this RDX warrants the price it would take to update every year. They haven't updated it in awhile. Just saying.

Great engine
Fantastic drivetrain
Crap tuning from the factory (explains the shitty mpg)
Outdated 5 speed auto (also contributes to shitty mpg)


Honda should drop this engine and sh-awd drive train w/ a 6 speed manual in a civic si. Almost guaranteed they'd own the sport compact segment again a la '99-'00.

@mokos23 true, i prefer the older grill. but honestly.. there are much better options right now. 2012 honda crv and 2013 mazda cx-5. both get great gas mileage. RDX has crap mileage and really isn't that luxurious.

i love acura but when you think about hyundai and kia suv's they can compete with acura they have better navigation better layout of everything and looks very updated plus great engines and handling such on the new santa fe sport

Really, a Kia? This car really needs an update, due Next year. Still cheapest in the class though and it starts about 1, 200 dollars cheaper than he said.
