Upgrading F150 to a 9 Row Transmission Cooler - Saudi Desert Package

You may as well go all out if you're upgrading anything, and that's what we're doing today. The factory tow package is a 4 row transmission cooler. I was going to add it in, but why do that when Ford made a 9 row?

The part number for the desert "Saudi" 9 row cooler is DL3V-7A095-BA and costs around $120 depending where you buy it from. That isn't bad considering it is enormous and snaps into the factory mounting hardware. Mine is a 2014, but this should fit all 2011-2014 F150.

You should ream the inside of the double flanged fitting you cut. The fluid flows without creating a pinhole. Non reamed metal cuts have an interior ridge creating vortex which in turn creates pinholes after a period of time.

I dont know anything about transmissions, so i want to do this but worried about air in the line or something, when i install it, do i just fill it up with transmission fluid like he did? And if i ever do a transmission flush afterwards will i have to detach and fill it up again.

Did you have to add much transmission fluid after installing?
