In the early 1900's, american labor laws didn't change until people heard the horrific conditions children worked in sweat shops. Deadly poisonous fumes on pregnant women, and dangerous machinery with no safety features.

Ever since Shuanghui, WH Group purchased Smithfield in 2013 for $4.72 Mil, the quality of the bacon went down. Smithfield is not Smithfield anymore.

Please people search around your area and find a small family farm that will sell you your pork products, keeps the money in the community and will help other besides the farmer, there will be a butcher and a smoker and cure person. Stay small and help your community and know where your food comes from. All your meat requirements can be found for small orders
