Samenzang op de prachtige Fantasie over Psalm 42 van Feike Asma, begeleid door Gert van Hoef in de Hervormde Kerk te Uddel.

First time seeing Gert in a suit, I love when Jan is with you the longest Registrant. Now you have you're wonderful wife you a blessed.

Gert always pours his heart and soul into every piece he plays.  I have never heard a piece played by him I did not like.  As a boy my father would always play early on sunday mornings before going to church psalms by Feike Asma, Jan Zwart, W.H. Zwart and KJ Mulder on the record player.  I also had the privilege of attending a live concert of Feike Asma in Grand Rapids, MI.  To me it is breathtaking to watch Gert pick up the music of these master organists with such zeal and passion.  He has beautifully played many of their improvisations on the psalms.  Fantasie over Psalm 42 by Feike Asma is one of my favorites, and this particular samenzang certainly hits the heartstrings!  I will be in the audience singing my heart out (if my emotions don't get the best of me) once we figure out this distance problem.

OMG...OMG...OMG... soooo beautiful, especially as I went back and read Psalm 42 ! You can hear the text in the notes... Wow ! It is a real treat to watch you play, one can tell your soul and spirit are at one with the work and the instrument !!! Thank you for sharing this special video ! (and all the others you have done so well too!) Once again it takes me back to the Virgil Fox days when he would end his concerts with a big hymn sing (usually "A Mighty Fortress is Our God") after a brief singing lesson to those assembled  :-)

Hi Gert you are just amazing. The organs you play are mostly tracker action. For those that do not realise. The more stops that are used the harder it is to press the notes down. Your handfuls of note must be really hard work. No pistons or swell boxes either Thankyou . I look forward oneday to hear you play if you do a tour of uk. Kind regards
