SUMMIT FRONT LOWER BIG 4 POINT BRACE INSTALL! | FOCUS RS

I install the lower front BIG 4 point chassis to subframe brace from SUMMIT!

This Asian brand is synonymous with quality and eye catching chassis and body bracing / stiffening and the lower front BIG 4 point chassis to subframe brace for Ford Focus RS and ST (MK2 and MK3!) is no different!

Featuring a beautiful orange sparkle paint job, the BIG 4 point sub frame brace makes the Ford Focus RS under body really pop (especially in combination with my other Summit braces - see below for links!) and looks so much different than stock while also being extra strong and rigid, connecting together parts of the front chassis and sub frame and will aid in the reduction of body roll / chassis flex by joining the 2 sides of the car together meaning I will be able to push harder, especially in cornering!

This benefit will be felt in aiding handling characteristics without the need for using the hard suspension mode which is a real bonus as it can feel very bouncy on public roads.

This lower front big 4 point chassis to subframe brace will, in particular, compliment the front lower middle 4 point chassis to subframe brace also from Summit that I installed on my MK3 Focus RS a number of weeks ago, sitting just in front of it!

The lower front big 4 point chassis to subframe brace from Summit for the Focus RS / ST is made from 6061 forged aluminium and features 2 long legs with 2 horizontal members made with a special tubular inner design which means that it is not only super strong but also much lighter than any other such product on the market!

I show the process of how to install the lower front BIG 4 point brace onto my Ford Focus RS which is reasonably simple, just 2 small bolts and two big bolts either side, and can be done on your driveway with only a basic tool set needed!

The hardest part is getting access to the 2 large bolts as they are accessed top down without much space to work. After you get these sorted, the install is fairly plain sailing!

The kit comes with brand new longer bolts for all 4 corners along with washers and 2 spacers to match, specifically for use in our case for MK3 Focus RS. The spacers (also made from top grade aluminium) are needed because the MK3 has a slightly different underside shape to the MK2 where the MK2 is a bit more flat - all is made clear in this video!

The kit actually comes with multiple accessory packs to suit multiple models of Ford Focus - MK3, MK2, etc so is very versatile whatever car you have and indeed this is a very handy thing as I borrow a couple of washers from one of the other packs as you will see!

Recommended tools for the install are:
- Breaker bar with appropriate sockets to loosen bolts
- 3/8 " ratchet with appropriate sockets to remove loosened bolts quick and easy and to get them in again
- Torque wrench
- Same size spanners / combination wrenches that you have sockets - loosening and tightening the larger bolts is done in a quite awkward, tight space so having a selection of different shaped tools helps
- Sharp, strong blade knife for cutting the mid undertray either side to get to the bolts underneath - I recommend cutting rough circles for neatness and to retain as much of the undertray as possible.

Also, as this area is right next to the ground, it will be subjected to the weather elements as well as dust, dirt, stones and general road grime so in order to protect that lovely sparkly orange paint finish, I ceramic coat brace with Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armor. This is a high quality ceramic coating that provides a high level of hardness and durability while also being heat resistant and should provide good protection for a long time!

I show the ceramic coating process which I complete a few hours ahead of completing the Summit lower front big 4 point chassis to subframe brace installation process!

Hi Adam is there any chance this could fall to update and if so can you reset your system back to factory? Meaning your original version.
I have sync 3 version 2.0 in a 2016 Mondeo and tried many times with the official ford site update download but it doesn’t seem to work, just sticks on updating system... I’m a bit wary about using this method as it says it must be used at your own risk, not endorsed by Ford?
