Finding your place in the beautiful game | Mike Sangster | TEDxMSVU

Mike Sangster shares his experience of playing the beautiful game with local youth on a beach in South America, of its lessons, and on learning how to find where he needed to be to make a meaningful contribution to the world. Mike describes how one game shaped his perspective of global health work as a journey of partnership, and on how and where one needs to participate in order to realize meaningful and sustainable change for those most in need. Through the narrative of his personal journey, Mike powerfully discusses the path to finding the place where individual talents and the needs of the world intersect and reveals that sometimes you find where you are needed precisely where your comfort zone ends.

Mike Sangster is a Pediatric Physiotherapist and an Adjunct Faculty at Dalhousie University. He is also an international volunteer who has fostered partnerships with rehabilitation clinicians through annual capacity building medical missions in Peru, Thailand, Cuba, India and St. Lucia.
