Thanks for mentioning the lowest power output for each device, it saved my money! Appreciate your work.

I love Godox lights. Suits my budget and have worked well for me. The AD200/AD200Pro are Godox's best selling lights for a reason. The power of almost 3 speedlights in one unit and so versatile. There are so many accessories and light units that work with them as a base. Portable and the bare bulb is great for when you need to put it in a modifier as the light spreads a lot better than with the fresnel head (the typical rectangular head). But yeah, I love the Godox stuff, especially the AD series. I have the AD 200 Pro and the AD600 BM (fully manual, no TTL and goes down to 1/256). I shoot outdoors quite a bit so I like having the power at my disposal. You'll love not being a slave to cords all over the floor when you get the AD300Pro. Cool stuff :)

I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for being real on what you feel comfortable with in terms of performance vs price point. I own 4 Godox strobes (2 - DP400III, 1 - DP600III and 1 - DP800III) and I love the quality of the lights. I always say that if it works well enough for what you want it to do, then you have the right product.

I as well started with the smaller speed lights but for many years now still use godox studio strobes and have two of the ad200. I use them a lot on location shoots because of there output and portability. I’ve never had a reason to change to any other brand. I’m getting a 400iii godox studio strobe for studio work as that’s plenty for my needs. Nice video.

As someone who' s still a beginner at studio photography, I found your video very informative. I was still thinking about which Godox lights I should buy for my small studio, and I think the SK400II is just what I need. Thank you for making this video.

The AD200 is one of the best values/performance for battery flashes. The PRO vs Non pro is 1/256 or 1/128 range. I have too many lights. Lol. (2) MS300’s (2) AD200’s (2) AD400 PROS. I watch for the sales on Adorama and get deals. Paid $420 & 430 for the AD400’s so “not terrible”. They are on sale for $439 till end of Aug now.

What you have prooved is you dont have to have the Catalac to get the job done. I have really got sucked into the Godox eco system and have started out just recently. The only ticket item on my studio strobes i insisted on having with all my lights was being able to stop them down to 1/256. Originally got some that stopped down to 1/64, but decided after watching many YouTube videos to return them and pay a bit more. Very happy with Godox

Madam, thanks for the great explanation; one thing that could have made it an even better video by showing the actual light and comparison between 300 and 400.

Hello, I found your vide very informative. Would you recommend the godox SK 400 ii for both product photography + continues light as key light for making YouTube video ?

I would appreciate your advise.

Thank you.

I own 8 of these some units are better than others. You are lucky to get 1 perfect unit. Be sure when you have big projects to bring an extra unit with you just in case one unit malfunctions.

adorama's Flashpoint and Godox sell for the same price across all sources.

the 400ws plug in with LED modeling light is currently $220 for either 'brand'

im torn between adding a couple of 300ws because im trying to go all bowens mount modifiers but i like the portability of the 200s. they require a speedmount though to use most of the modifiers i hope to use (and get rid of the shaft mounted umbrellas)...

pretty good video. id like to have seen a bit more on the actual use / control panel of the monolights

Yes pass the buff and go to Godox or Wescott. The Einstein is nice, but it is very plasticy. For the money, I would stay with the Godox or Wescott. Just a note. Godox when they first came out they were not that good, but they listened to the costumer and they improved their product.

You don't shoot in high-speed sync because the SK400II and 300 don't offer high speed sync. The AD200 Pro does offer HS sync.

Do you have to dump the light when switching to a lower power level?
