Wise words! Kids need to be encouraged to use their imagination, that's why I always borrow library books for my Grandies. A lazy summer day outside, a bean bag, some fruit and a library book perfect. Your 'holiday create bins' gets them making and creating! Thank you for the inspiration.

I all these ideas! Brilliant! My kids watched this with me, and they can’t wait to do these! I think I told my dad ONCE I was bored, growing up. He wrote a long list of chores for me to do. I never made that mistake again, LOL! I agree it’s ok for kids to be bored. They have to use their imaginations. Look at where you are now! Video games would not have brought you to your dreams. I don't remember being bored much as a kid. I had a younger brother, but we rarely played together. Like you, we had 3 channels, but we didn't watch TV during the day. My Mom made us play outside, or we rode our bikes to our friends houses. I LOVED to read, so I read, listened to the radio, played Barbies or "House" with my friends. If we complained about being bored, my Mom would find chores for us to do. Which I didn't want extra chores, I already had household chores I had to finish, before she would let me play! LOL!

When my siblings and i were younger, we would explore. We were fortunate enough to live in a house with lots of land behind us. So we would cut across the ditch behind our house and just explore. We would go through wooded areas and up little hills... it was so much fun! I miss those days!

Duuuude I played imagination station all the time as a kid!! I am much younger than my siblings so I was alone a lot! It totally allowed me to explore and create! My kids don’t know how good they have it! My mom would never have spent time to put together a slime kit for me!! ❤️🎉🎉 love these ideas!

I would go for walks, ride my bike, explore the creek and the woods behind the house. But my absolute favorite thing was tending to the fruit and vegetable garden. I think it’s good for kids to be bored sometimes. They will have to use their imaginations. If they stare at screens all the time other people are giving them ideas and they aren’t thinking. Good for you Cass! The kits look super fun!
