Long Time Altra Runner (Torin) Review: First off, thank you for this great review video. To this day, it's still the most complete Provision 6 review online. Based on this review, I took the plunge to leave the Torin family. My runs have been increasing in frequency and distance and the my feet began to hurt more and more in the Torin 4.5 Plush. Wasn't happy with the initial fit and feel of the Torin 5, so I was already looking for a new shoe and wanted to stay in the Altra Family. Ok, about the Provision 6. I just completed my first Half Marathon with this shoe and I was super happy with the results. It has the right amount of responsiveness and cushion, although, I was a little worried with how still it felt during the first 20 miles or so. As a neutral runner (supination), this support shoe still preforms well. The added Innovarch thing is a real life saver on long runs and really feels quite supportive. I don't feel any "guiding" in the shoe which is a turnoff in most stability shoes. The overall fit of the shoe is perfect (im a 10.5) and it looks great. The last and best part about this shoe is that I feel it will last for a long time. There is ample tread on the shoe and it really grippy in wet conditions. I look forward to updating this review as I push past the 100 mile mark.

Crazy how you have these shoes before the whole internet :) I'm not much into stability shoes, but the new Provision looks great, I might give it a shot.

Based on this review I called and talked to Steve, ordered the shoes and they arrived 7 days later (with Christmas in the middle of that period). Shoes look great. I’m transitioning from Newton Motions and looking forward to comparing the Altras to the Newtons. I love my Lone Peaks so this is a hopeful change. Great service and a great price. Best shoe reviews on YouTube.

Love the content of these reviews, always appreciate the early looks at Altra shoes... Wish they were shot a little better. This is a 9 minute video with only one high resolution look at the shoe at 4:11. If you're going to zoom/crop, shoot at 4K and crop into 1080. Otherwise, shoot more B-roll closeup shots (upper, midsole, outsole, medial, lateral) and cut to those when appropriate. Thanks!

I actually really liked the Provision 5, so much better than the 4!

On why they may have abandoned the bumpy insole, or why I'm happy to see them go at least: I still have a pair of Provision 4 and their ribbed insole used to tear at my calluses, causing me some serious pain like clockwork around 8 km into every run. Once I figured out what was going on I swapped the insoles with an old pair of Superior and never looked back.

Can’t wait to try these. The last two felt meh. I love the arahi 5 and keep wanting Altra to wow me with their version of a stability shoe. These finally look like it. Thanks for the awesome review. Also, Just ordered a pair of shoes and runmoore shirt to rep out here in Southern California. Keep up the good work.

I have the 4's and liked them a lot..I loved how they held my heal. I just ordered the 6 so I'm hoping they still have that wonderful heal. I did feel the 4's were tight on the outside edge of the toe box and the support seemed to give out at the 5 month mark. I'm not a runner but use these for class based workouts. I tried the Timp 2 ..used it as a recovery shoe as it lacked the support I needed. I then added a Paradigm 6 that I ordered from you, which became my workout shoe. The Paradigms stabilipods irk me tho, its one of the main reasons I use the Timp for recovery. The timps let me over pronate however, so they disappoint me a bit. I hope the Pro. 6 fills these gaps.

Wow! Great review! I am excited about this shoe and am considering it even though I am a neutral runner. I might pick this one up when it comes out instead of my original idea of getting a 3rd pair of Riveras lol. It looks a little more cushioned than the rivera. I hope it isn't softer like the ego max on the Torin. I love the pop on the Rivera.

Great review as always. I have the 4's and totally agree. Time to update and I am glad to see the cushioning hopefully has been improved as I have had to go Clifton for longer road walk/runs. If you can give some insight on the cushioning compared tot the Hoka Clifton that would be great. Lastly, said the replaced that insole. Thank goodness. Those bump things would rub my foot and especially my toes raw. The bumps went way too forward under the foot. First thing I did was remove them.

Hard to believe they can be better than my Provision 2s, but I’m excited to give them a try if I can find them in my size anywhere.

fan of your channel and altra, do you ship in the Philippines?

Great review, it looks like a more stable Rivera.. Also wider I hope. I don't understand what the stability here is. Is it just the wider outsole? By the way, the outsole wear on the Rivera is bad..how do you compare Provision to the Paradigm? Which has more energy return? Ego vs Max?

Thanks for the excellent review. I’m looking for my first altra road shoe having already used the lone peak 5 and then Olympus 4 as I needed a little more support.

What other brands offer the zero drop approach? In the UK it only seems to be altra (although I might be wrong). I just looking for a shoes to consider along side the provision 6.

Great review, I've been enjoying your videos. I tend to under pronate slightly and usually go for a mid cushion neutral shoe but I'm looking at trying a shoe with these guide rails to help with that. What are your thoughts between the Provision 6 and the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21? (other than the difference in drop)
