What do I want to be true about me at the end of this year that is not currently true?

At the beginning of this new year, Fr. Mike shares the advice of Stephen Covey: "Begin with the end in mind." Our days are limited and Fr. Mike encourages us to examine who we want to be and to start working towards that now.

This year 2022 I started in January making a promise to God to be faithful. I was baptised in February. Confirmed in June. At the end of the year, I renew my promise to be faithful to God and trust where He is taking me. God bless Ascension family. Thank you Brother Mike for your encouragement throughout the year. More God-centric that is more trusting, fully surrendering and accepting His plan, living and obeying His ways in big and mundane things, more cheerful believing He is by my side, more understanding and patient of brothers and sisters in Christ, love Him with all my life, heart, mind and strength, more prayer time with Him.

i'm just finishing up reading the whole Catholic Bible (on my own) with no help or outside motivation. First time ever reading and completing, first time ever reading the Catholic version with Catholic Books, first time ever actually completing my personal challenge. Now I'm motivated to continue - bought YOUR bible, and YOUR Catechism - and will start on January 1st - hopefully to complete both, but this time reading with a group (all other Christians joining the challenge) and hearing your explanation ... so looking forward to it. Thanks for your challenge. For those reading, on the fence - do it, you won't be sorry. It will really show more about our loving, faithful and mercyful GOD. Peace in 2023.

SO grateful to be embarking on the Catechism in a year program but YES, please slow down. THANK YOU for recognizing that! My nerves are getting jangled from the incredible speed of your speech, Father Mike! Not everyone can absorb it and if, like me, there are some people listening to you that are not "neuro-typical" and have some challenges, we won't be able to absorb the beautiful messages you are trying to send to us. Please leave room for those people who are sensitive to frenetic stimuli. Thanks so much.

Might be a stupid question .. I am
baptized Catholic, got my first communion, left the church in my early 20’s to a evangelical protest faith. I want to come back home to my Catholic faith. Do I need to purchase a catechism to do the plan ? Also am going to try and push myself to go back to mass… pandemic didn’t help this health anxious senior citizen (65 y/o) … Father Mike, Father Dave of YouTube both have helped me but I’ll say that God bless Mother Angelica
When she was alive … I watched her on EWTN for almost the entire time she was on tv…praying that this new year will be the one when I come back to my true faith ..🙏🏽✝️❤️

I don't do New Year's Resolutions. They just seem like empty goals, people are all gung-ho on January 1 and they are forgotten in no time. "What do I want to be true about me at the end of this year"? That is something that resonates with me. I don't know why the different wording makes a difference for me but it does. This past year was full of wanting to move back to Arizona to be by my family into the sudden quick action to get me here and settled into my new life. Now I'm back in the parish where I came into the church with my devout Catholic Friends plus your new study I am looking forward to with you. God bless you Fr. Mike!

I am so excited to start The Cathism with you, Father Mike. I am on my 2nd round of the Bible in a year. 🙏❤️👍. I want to be true to me. I want to be closer to God and trust him more. Be more patient and less irritable with the cross he has given me to carry.

Hey Father Mike, I love tacos but I could say that about lasagna. My family loves lasagna but me not so much. I make it for them and make a large salad to go with it. The dream for the end of next year is that I am so much closer to God in all areas of my life that I hear Him every minute of the day!!!! Thank you for all you do in helping us grow closer to God. I want to be kinder and more charitable to my family, my friends, acquaintances, she to strangers. I am doing the CIY and the BIY and I'm happy to say that I'm keeping up!
