The US has to support the Philippines and abide by the mutual defense treaty between the two countries. Not doing so will send a message to all of the US allies around the world that it's not good on its word. That notion will instantly erode any relationship the US has with its friends and allies, thus tweaking its position as a superpower. The situation with China, the Philippines and the US is a tinderbox and I hope that the CCP realizes that it's perilously close to starting WWIII.

Answer: Philippines is the oldest Asian country defense treaty that US made. So not honoring it's oldest treaty in Asia no country will ever believe in it.

I'm constantly amazed on how much money China spends on its so-called legitimate military actions, when China has so many problems with unemployment, an elder population, lack of new births, and housing development corruption. We(US) must stop aiding and abetting Philippines in not returning the stolen Zhongye Dao/Thitu Island and the other 10 islands, shoals, etc., in South China Sea, which were under ROC/Taiwan’s administration. These islands were stolen by Phiipines from ROC/Taiwan when it was too weak to defend from Philipines and pressure from the US. Also, we must stop aiding and abetting Japan in not returning the stolen Diaoyu/Senkaku which it stole after invading and annexing Luchu(Okinawa) that was previously an independent country. In addition, we should dismantle the military base on occupied land of Luchu(Okinawa). The Japanese people doesn't like the base on Japan's own soil, so Japan and US collude to put it on Luchu's lands.

If we won’t stop, it is only because US wants to keep the existing military bases in the South and East China Seas and building more for geopolitical dominance. If US goes further in aiding and abetting Phillipines and Japan in any shape or form regarding SCS or Diaoyu, we(US) are continuing on the wrong path on the wrong side of history. If you were not aware before, you are aware now. If you continue that path, shame on you.
