Angel Hernandez would have awarded him homeplate.

I mean it’s only fair considering when Marcus Semien was tagged into a double play after a line drive because of the BATTING GLOVES in his back pocket.

Interesting ruling on the helmet wouldnt a sliding mitt be considered an extension of ones body?

But you can get tagged out because your batting glove is in your back pocket. Adds up.

If the glove is an extension of the hand so should the helmet

I’d say if his hands inside the helmet it’s fine, but bc he was holding it it’s not part of his body anymore, same thing with. Sliding mit

But the thing is a sliding mitt can extend their reach too

When players first started wearing helmets, they would often throw off their helmets after getting a hit.

It’s not a written rule and I think until they make one that’s legal! Just like it’s legal to tag a batting glove in the back pocket. The only rule about equipment pertains to catchers.

I mean he absolutely did not have to use his helmet in that situation..idk why he chose to do that tbh

I want the helmet on the base to become a legal move. It would be a lot of fun to see teams trying to counter it

Bro he was in safe by a mile anyway. The fact people say he would of been out without the helmet is crazy 💀

How isn't it a legal move. The helmet is in his hand like a glove is on a fielders hand. If I tag the base with my glove, the runner would be out. So the helmet should make the base runner safe... I don't understand this rule.

he had absolutely no reason to use his helmet and just wanted attention

Your batting gloves getting swiped in your back pocket counting as an out makes this legal

There’s no actual rule against what he did with the helmet
